Official Freesona Instances Terms of Service
Rules governing the use of Freesona Discord bot instances operated by Quincy So
Throughout this policy:
- "The bot", "we", and "us" refer to the Freesona-based Discord bot and its operator.
- "You" and "your" refer to the Discord user interacting with the bot.
- "Server administrators" refers to Discord server staff with permission to manage the bot.
- "Third-party services" refers to external APIs and services used by the bot to process requests.
1. Overview
These Terms of Service explain the rules for using Freesona-based bot instances operated by Quincy So, including acceptable behavior and limitations of the service.
By using the bot, you agree to these Terms of Service and to the collection and use of data as described in the applicable Privacy Policy.
This bot is based on the public open-source project Freesona. These Terms of Service apply only to Freesona-based bot instances operated by Quincy So.
Because Freesona is publicly available, anyone may host their own independent instance with different configurations, logging practices, memory systems, hosting providers, or privacy policies.
If you are interacting with a Freesona-based bot that is not operated by Quincy So, these Terms of Service do not apply to that instance.
2. Use of the Bot
Allowed Use
- Using commands as intended for their stated purposes
- Interacting with the bot within the rules of the server it is deployed in
- Providing feedback or reporting bugs through designated channels
Prohibited Use
- Spamming, abusing commands, or deliberately triggering excessive API usage
- Attempting to bypass restrictions, inject prompts, or manipulate the AI system
- Using the bot for harassment, hate speech, or any illegal activity
- Using official Sumi branding, identity, or presentation in a misleading or impersonating manner
3. AI-Generated Content
Responses generated by this bot may be produced by third-party AI models and external processing services. The bot owner does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI-generated responses. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
4. Moderation and Enforcement
Server staff and/or the bot owner may restrict or revoke access to the bot at any time if these terms or server rules are violated. Enforcement decisions are final.
5. Data Usage
Use of the bot involves limited data collection as described in the Privacy Policy. By using the bot, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
5a. Memory and Facts
The bot may automatically extract and store facts about you from your messages to improve future interactions. These facts are tied to your Discord user ID and the server (guild) where the interaction occurred. You can view, delete, or clear your stored facts using the /memorylist, /memorydelete, and /memoryclear commands. Server administrators may also manage memory facts for users in their server.
5b. Knowledge Base
Server administrators may add documents (text, PDFs, EPUBs) to an optional local knowledge base for semantic retrieval during AI generation. Content added to the knowledge base is stored locally and queried to provide contextually relevant responses. Administrators can manage entries via /kbadd, /kblist, and /kbdelete.
5c. File and Media Processing
You may send images, PDFs, audio, video, and code files to the bot for processing. These attachments are transmitted to the configured AI provider for analysis and may be processed by third-party services (e.g., MVSEP for audio separation, YouTube for media extraction). Do not submit files containing sensitive personal information you do not wish to be processed by these services.
5d. Autonomous Mode
When enabled by server administrators, the bot may respond to messages in configured channels without being directly mentioned. This feature uses a confidence-scored intent evaluator — not random chance — and is subject to per-channel and per-user cooldowns to prevent excessive messaging. You can check whether autonomous mode is active using the /debugpersona command.
6. Service Availability
The bot is provided "as is" with no guarantees of uptime, reliability, or continuous availability. Downtime may occur without notice.
7. Changes to the Service
Features, commands, or functionality may be modified, suspended, or removed at any time without prior notice. These Terms of Service may also be updated at any time; continued use of the bot constitutes acceptance of any changes.
8. Third-Party Services
This bot integrates with third-party AI providers and external APIs to fulfill requests. Supported providers include Google Gemini, OpenAI, Ollama, NVIDIA NIM, Azure AI Foundry, Groq, and OpenRouter. Additional integrations may include MVSEP (audio separation), YouTube content processing, web search APIs, and RSS feed fetching.
Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. The bot owner is not responsible for the practices, availability, or content of these third parties.
9. Limitation of Liability
The bot owner is not responsible for any damages, data loss, or issues resulting from use of the bot, including but not limited to inaccurate AI responses, service interruptions, or unauthorized access.
10. Termination
Access to the bot may be terminated at any time for any reason, including violations of these terms, at the sole discretion of the bot owner or server staff.
11. Contact
For concerns, questions, or requests, contact the bot owner through the designated support channels in the server.
